I create photographs and videos that highlight the western lifestyle and culture while also capturing man’s relationship to the environment and capturing the mundane moments that happen throughout a day of work and what goes into it. I also interview and capture portraits to show who they are as a person. Like in Community, you can see the silhouettes of the cowboys coming together before the rodeo starts and having a prayer for good luck and to make it out unharmed. Through the candid style I can capture the whole affect and show how timeless the culture is and how after tools have improved, the cowboys still work the same. This style also shows how the cowboy is just a regular human working to get a job done instead of just an icon. Like in Stock Contractor, Ronnie Haker is unloading his calves for the rodeo. Haker takes care of these calves everyday and is contracted out by rodeos and other events to take them to.
